The Grinch of the Lantern Corps? How Larfleeze Tried to Steal Christmas (And What He Found Instead)

If there is one being in the DC Universe who absolutely doesn’t get the concept of Christmas, it’s Larfleeze. As the sole owner of the Orange Battery and the Avatar of Greed, his vocabulary consists almost entirely of "Mine!" So, what happens when the ultimate hoarder discovers a holiday dedicated to… giving?

In a surprisingly heartwarming (and chaotic) tale, Larfleeze’s greed leads him on a collision course with none other than Santa Claus himself.

The Ultimate Heist: Santa’s Naughty List Perched on his frozen planet of Okara [00:10], Larfleeze picks up transmissions from Earth about a man in a red suit who gathers infinite treasures. To Larfleeze, Santa isn't a jolly icon; he’s a rival hoarder. Even worse, he hears that Santa just gives this stuff away.

Driven by jealousy and the desire for Santa's "master list" of desires [01:58]—which Larfleeze assumes is a treasure map—Agent Orange zooms to Earth to intercept the sleigh.

Greed vs. The Spirit of Giving The confrontation is everything you’d expect: an overpowering alien warlord bullying an elderly man for his sack of toys. But when Larfleeze plunges his hand into Santa's bag, he finds nothing but a void [04:20]. As Santa explains, the bag holds nothing for those who only take.

A Cookie for the Soul Defeated by the magic of generosity, Larfleeze is ready to retreat, but Santa offers him a parting gift: a single, orange-frosted cookie [05:07].

Back on Okara, surrounded by mountains of gold that suddenly seem dull, Larfleeze places the cookie on a pedestal under a triple-locked force field. For the first time in millennia, the Agent of Greed looks at his single gift and feels that he finally has enough [06:34].

It turns out, even 100,000-year-old space tyrants just want to be thought of during the holidays.
